While walking through the city, there are iconic places that you can’t miss: Plaza Mayor, where the narrow streets of the city centre disclose in a wide, open square, the magnificent Palacio Real where you can go for a guided tour through the 50 rooms where the Spanish royal family used to live, and if you want to relax the Parque del Buen Retiro, a beautiful green space to take a nice stroll or visit the Palacio de Cristal, a modern building made of metal and glass which sometimes hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
