Italian Elementary 3 Course: How The First Class Went
Our long term Italian classes in London are always fun!
Last week we started our Elementary 3 long term Italian classes in London.
The Elementary 3 course is perfect for all those students who have learnt all the complex topics of the previous two courses and want to practice them thoroughly.
The Past Tenses Passato Prossimo and Imperfetto, the Imperativo Formale and Informale, the Condizionale and the Futuro Semplice are not new to them.
However, some revision is exactly what they need before moving on!
Using these grammar topics in different contexts and using new and motivating materials is great!
So how did the first lesson go?
First of all we spent some time to get to know each other.
Students introduced themselves in small groups with a specific goal: find 3 things in common.
Interestingly, one thing that many students have in common is…an Italian partner!
So they have quite a lot to say about their learning journey and strong motivation.
After that, we focused on their Italian learning experience: they listened to an interview based on a questionnaire about motivation and preferences in a language class.
Then they asked each other the same questions and shared their tastes in terms of type of activity and daily practice.
But that’s not all!
We did something more difficult than that: we talked about emotions!
Students discussed the most common emotions they feel during a language class.
Talking about feelings and emotions is always tough but our students did really well!
They learnt new vocabulary to express happiness, frustration, boredom, ease…all they needed to explain what they feel.
And now…they are ready for a new class!
